The collaborative project of the Kuwait MEW

ANTRAKS’S decisions to monitor overhead and cable lines aroused interest of the Kuwait Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW). The country's electricity production has been growing annually for more than 30 years in a row. Stability of transmission and distribution has paramount importance for the middle East region today.

The pilot project, which includes a hardware-software monitoring system and electrical fault indicators for cable and overhead power lines, began in Kuwait this summer. All devices are equipped with information transmission units over cellular lines for continuous monitoring of the situation on power line. The provided set of equipment  allows to quickly detect damage on power line in remote mode and quickly eliminate breakages and ensure uninterrupted delivery of electricity to end-users.

The current situation in Kuwait, related to quarantine measures, has revealed the need of quickly solving issues of uninterrupted delivery of electricity to all corners of the country. Based on results of the ANTRAKS’S  project, the MEW plans to create a program for upgrading distribution grids with devices for diagnosing and monitoring power line failures.
