The equipment is designed to determine the location of a on medium-voltage overhead lines. Information about an emergency event from the devices is transmitted directly to SCADA system to the dispatcher via the DNP-3 protocol. Lodestar CL0.5 BM fault indicator records phase-to-phase faults and phase-to-ground faults with currents from 0.5 A and determines the direction of the emergency current flow, which allows the field crew to quickly find the place of damage on the power line.
